A Cozy New Chapter in Snowdonia

I’m Emily, born and raised in the heart of North Wales, and I’m beyond excited to announce the opening of my very own store, where I’ll be selling hand-knitted and crocheted headbands, each one made with love right here in Snowdonia. This new venture feels like the culmination of a lifelong passion for knitting, nature, and of course, spending time with the people I care about most. Every headband I make is completely unique, not just because they’re handmade, but because each piece carries a little bit of my story—and the stories of the people and places I love.
One of the things that make my headbands extra special is that none of them are ever reproduced. Once a headband is made, that’s it—there won’t be another one like it, ever. I love knowing that each piece is truly one-of-a-kind, just like the landscape around me here in Snowdonia. Plus, I have a bit of fun with the names. Every headband I make is named after one of my friends, all of whom I love going on walks with in Snowdonia. I think it adds a personal, playful touch to my creations and lets me celebrate the people who bring so much joy to my life.
For example, I’ve named the "Sophie" headband after one of my best friends, who’s always up for an adventure no matter how rugged the path. Then there’s the "Kelly" headband, which is a little nod to my fashionable but practical friend who somehow manages to stay chic even when we’re battling the wind and rain. Naming my headbands after the people who join me on my adventures just feels right—it’s my way of saying thank you for all the memories and the laughter.
But beyond my love for knitting and friendship, my connection to Snowdonia runs deep. I’ve spent my entire life surrounded by the beauty of North Wales, and my favourite place in the world is Cwm Idwal, a stunning glacial lake tucked away in the mountains. It’s a spot that’s filled with memories for me, as it’s where my mum’s ashes are scattered. I visit Cwm Idwal often, taking in the peace and quiet, and feeling close to her. There’s something magical about that place, and it reminds me of the importance of nature and family in everything I do. It’s that same connection that I try to infuse into my headbands—every stitch is a little piece of the beauty I see around me.
For me, my store is about so much more than selling headbands. It’s about sharing warmth, care, and a piece of Snowdonia with everyone who wears one of my creations. Each headband is made by hand, and I take my time to make sure it’s just right. From choosing the yarn to knitting or crocheting each stitch, I’m constantly inspired by the colours and textures of the world around me. Whether it’s a vibrant "Key Lime Pie" headband or a cozy "Mint Choc Chip" design, I want each piece to feel like a little slice of Snowdonia, wrapped up in something soft and warm.
I’m so proud to be able to share this journey with you. My headbands aren’t just practical—they’re personal, unique, and full of character. So if you’re looking for something truly special to keep you warm this winter, or just want a piece of Snowdonia to carry with you, I’d love for you to check out my store. Each headband has its own story, named after the friends who walk beside me on these mountain trails, and made with the spirit of North Wales in every stitch.
